Cinderella: December 2009

We had a ball presenting Cinderella for you. We hope you all enjoyed being part of the event and that you will return in December when we present Dick Whittington.

During 2010 we will be putting together various entertainment evenings to suit all tastes to keep members and friends together and promote the society within the town.

Watch this site for details........

For those members who were involved in Red Riding Hood you may like to know that there is a DVD available of the show. It is a 2 DVD set of the complete saturday evening performance and is yours for the fantastic price of £5-00 which will be put towards the funding of Cinderella.

Annie: Finale & Bows

Annie Dress Rehearsal: Finale & Bows

Glossop Operatic & Dramatic Society has brought entertainment and pleasure to its audiences, and performance opportunities to its members through the two shows usually produced in each of the last 32 years.

We moved out of The Victoria Hall (after it was closed to community use by High Peak Borough Council) where our last shows were A Chorus Line and Aladdin in 2006, followed by Annie in 2007.  After a short period without a venue GODS moved into an exciting new period and bounced back into Glossop life with Red Riding Hood in December 2008 in Glossopdale Community College, a venue providing improved audience facilities.

Preparation for our show for spring 2009 began last October but due to Red Riding Hood not making sufficient profits we have had to cancel the April show,

We have not given up completely as we have begun preparations to produce Cinderalla as our family pantomime for December 2009.

Our membership is open to all, and we welcome new members who would like to join us in any field of the production - from singing and dancing, to brewing tea and sweeping floors. There are many aspects involved in putting a show together, and you are welcome to join us in these.  Please contact us if you are interested in joining us.

Situated in Glossop, to the east of Manchester and Stockport, GODS is in the North West Region of NODA so has access to all the resources of the national association supporting amateur dramatics.
