Glossop Operatic and Dramatic Society

Our next show is a traditional family pantomime:

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

nightly: Tuesday to Saturday, 2nd to 6th December 2008

matinee: Saturday 6th December

at Stage-One, Glossopdale Community College

Little Red Riding Hood has all the elements of the fairy tale we all remember - Little Red Riding Hood herself with her Grandmother and, of course, a Wolf (who tries to be debonaire rather than scary).  But our production will also have Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Gypsy Rose, and Tom, Dick and Harry......

There will be comedy and romance, songs and dancing, lively chorus numbers, and lots of audience involvement (oh yes there will...) - a traditional family pantomime for the Christmas season.

The cast and chorus have been selected and show is currently in preparation - but places are still available in the Senior Chorus & Dancers (teens and adults) - email to pm@g-o-d-s.org.uk for details.

Director: Carole Wilson   Choreographer: Tracey Withnall.   Musical Director: Chris FoxProduction Manager: Andrew Veitch

Glossop Operatic & Dramatic Society has brought entertainment and pleasure to its audiences, and performance opportunities to its members through the two shows usually produced in each of the last 32 years.

We have moved out of The Victoria Hall (after it was closed by High Peak Borough Council) where our last shows were A Chorus Line and Aladdin in 2006, followed by Annie in 2007.

GODS is moving into an exciting new period and work has already begun on Little Red Riding Hood, for December 2008, which will be produced in a venue providing improved audience facilities.

Preparation for our show for spring 2009 will begin in June and we expect to announce arrangements by the end of July.

Our membership is open to all, and we welcome new members who would like to join us in any field of the production - from singing and dancing, to brewing tea and sweeping floors. There are many aspects involved in putting a show together, and you are welcome to join us in these.  Please contact us if you are interested in joining us.

Situated in Glossop, to the east of Manchester and Stockport, GODS is in the North West Region of NODA so has access to all the resources of the national association supporting amateur dramatics.
