Glossop Operatic and Dramatic Society

We are taking a break after our hugely successful production of Dick Whittington for Christmas 2012.

Please re-visit us in the New Year to see our plans for the future.

Check our Dick Whittington page for more on our latest show.

Young people involved in our productions can base an Arts Award around their work on the show.

See our  Arts Award  page for more information.

Glossop Operatic & Dramatic Society has brought entertainment and pleasure to its audiences, and performance opportunities to its members over 35 years. Rehearsal: Annie

With a reputation (and award!) for the quality of our productions the society remains very inclusive and firmly based in the people of Glossop, achieving a great audience experience along with highly enjoyable time for the cast and crew. (see our Past Shows  page for more rehearsal pictures like this one from "Annie")

High Peak Borough Council has closed all public halls in the town so we are now based at Glossopdale Community College.  Our residence in the school has built links and opportunities for students to extend their experience in performing arts & theatrical production and to pursue their Arts Award through our productions.

The audience comes to see the spectacular of what's on stage but there are many activities that make it all happen:

Our membership is open to all and we always welcome new members so please contact us if you think you'd like to be part of it all.

Situated in Glossop, to the east of Manchester and Stockport, GODS is in the North West Region of NODA so has access to all the resources of the national association supporting amateur dramatics.

GODS: a local society for local people from Glossop, Hadfield, Ashton, Stalybridge, Hyde, Stockport, Buxton and New Mills - and anywhere else!
