Glossop Operatic and Dramatic Society

Dick Whittington (2010)

Our pantimome for 2010 was to be Dick Whittington, written by Graham Barrowclough.  Dick along with his cat, and a large cast of goodies and baddies rehearsed hard and were ready to bring this lively and traditional family pantomime to the Glossop public in the run up to Christmas.

Based on a real character the show tells the story of the young man from humble background who became Lord Mayor of London, not once but three times. The show was to follow Dick's exploits around the world to make his fortune and win the hand of fair Alice..... but not before Thomas, his cat, was to have adventures of his own including coming face to face with the biggest and baddest Royal Rat ever seen.

ALL PERFORMANCES OF DICK WHITTINGTON WERE CANCELLED

We regret that all performances were cancelled as

Glossopdale Community College was closed on safety grounds after heavy snow.

The show had been scheduled to run from Tuesday 30th November until Saturday 4th December, with a matinee on the Saturday.... but it was cancelled... so here is a sneak peak from rehearsals...
